RSX is often defined as "smoother RSI" and that's true most of the time.
RSX uses what we call period 1 momentum in its calculations. This version is a variant that allows you to use any momentum length. Of course, it comes with extra lag (when the momentum period increases) but in some cases (if the momentum period increases modestly) it can filter out some false signals.
