It is a double smoothed EMA. It has a name similar to Double EMA (DEMA), but is calculated differently than DEMA (hence it is a "DEMA with a twist"). Double-smoothed ema is obviously much faster than EMA or DEMA, and is still smooth enough for my liking. Seemingly that simple gives some nice results.
This is the gradient version of the Double Smoothed EMA indicator.
