MACD Simple Cross System - MT4/MT5 Resources
Hello everyone,
This idea has been in my head for a long time and wanted to share it with you all.
I would like to ask you to give me your feedback, if anyone knows how to create an EA it would be great to speed up testing.
The only indicator I'm using is the Moving Average Convergence and Divergence (standard settings 12, 26, 9). Just copy it to your indicators folder. I use it with H4 timeframe.
Buy:
We are looking for a buy signal when both the signal line and the main MACD line are below 0. When the histogram turns green, we enter a trade.
Additional purchases:
If after a valid buy (both lines are below 0 and the histogram turns green) the histogram turns red and then turns green again, you add another buy position.
From left to right:
Buy, add-on purchase, sell, purchase
When both the signal line and the main MACD line are above 0, we are looking for a sell signal. When the histogram turns red, we enter a trade.
If after a valid sell (both lines are above 0 and the histogram turns red) the histogram turns green and then turns red again, you add another sell position.
From left to right:
sell, buy, sell, add-sell, add-sell
quit:
When you receive a signal to the contrary, exit all open positions. This means you will always have an open position - whether buying or selling.
Below are some screenshots of MACD with marker signals, price levels with marker signals, and a combination of the two.
I used this system on my real account a few years ago and I managed to grow my account from about 5,000 CZK to about 7,500 CZK (about 200 USD to 300 USD) but then lost most of it because I missed a reverse signal and then instead of closing the position with a small loss I let the trade go against me until I received another signal in the same direction. Unfortunately, this took longer than I thought, so I ended the trade with a huge loss... If I had waited a few more days for the market to move in "my" direction, I would have made closer to 300%, but that's another story
Have a nice day everyone!
