RBA strategy
The name of the strategy evolved over time. For ease of reference, I've shortened it to a more conventional name.

Updated August 19
The strategy was slightly modified. The basic principles of ADR scope remain unchanged. For full details on the new update, read here, here and here.
Don't post until you've digested the thread you're connecting to. We now focus on H1 and H4.

Introduction
For all traders, this post is dedicated to a development project that the community (Robots4Me et al.) has been working on. This thread is not for newbies. We won't accept questions from newbies. Make sure you have strong money management skills before taking the plunge . The market is unpredictable and can move thousands of points against you. This thread will only help you identify buy and sell areas. This is not a magical way to get rich.

Robot 4Me has always been generous. He works tirelessly on developing indicators and EAs. Other members of the community have been testing and providing high-quality feedback.

The purpose of thread
The purpose of this thread is to use these tools and provide input into developing the tools into a finished product. Market conditions may change and the method may fail. So be careful. I'm not here to claim to know everything or to have spent a million hours on a screen. Share your opinions and let us grow our knowledge together. All ideas welcome.

How it started
Project starts here.

The 2 main threads related to this project are:
MM (Money Maker) Detective Indicator (from 3865)
TMA-ADR Reversal Trading and BBMA Custom Indicator()

I highly recommend everyone follow the thread to learn about the history of the project and our development progress.

Trading RBA Strategy
The strategy is built around price action near the midline of the central TMA. Anyone who can code should be able to do this easily. Grab the centered TMA and follow these steps:

  1. Draw the centerline of the central MA (TMA centered at NIH, interpolation = false, W1, half-length = 1)
  2. Mark ADR distance from center line
  3. Check if the daily candle breaks above the midline and closes above the ADR (check at the end of the day)
  4. If step 3 is true, trade towards the midline
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 once at the end of each day (new daily candle opens)
  6. TP: center line
  7. SL: x% of the distance between ADR and the trade opening price (I prefer 200%)

This indicator reacts to price changes. Therefore, the range may change slightly this week. However, the entry conditions for D1 generally remain in effect. As long as you stick to scaling your trades based on D1 signals, you'll be fine. Avoid using LTF until you understand how it works.

rule

  1. Article: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket :

    1. You can increase trade size based on signals (avoiding LTF)
    2. Divide your land into parcels. For example, if all you want to invest in one trading cycle is 0.1, the split is 0.1/6 = 0.016 (please tell me is this possible? Please let me know of good brokers that offer small lot trading)
    3. When each signal appears, trade with (expected total lot size/6)
    4. Set stop loss to 100% ADR. Each trade has its own stop loss. The chances of the price falling 100% ADR again before retracing to the midline are very slim. Less than 5%. May happen on black days (market crashes). Our stop loss will save the day
    5. Midline profit taking

  2. Trailing Stop Loss and Take Profit

    1. We will have a hard stop and a visual stop. The same goes for take profit
    2. A hard stop is set at the beginning of the trade and should ideally not move.
    3. Visual stop loss is a stop loss executed by the EA based on the price and the opposite band and midline
    4. When a new week begins, new lines are drawn.
    5. That's the trick. The midline may immediately become a visual stop.
    6. If the midline is now below or above price, ideally we would hope that price will continue to move in our favor. However, if the price reverses back to the midline, we exit the trade. This is not a good sign.
    7. The center line is our blade. If the price hits the midline, regardless of profit or loss, exit
    8. Another method is to use the opposite band as an exit. In a buy trade, the upper limit is exit. In a sell trade, the lower limit is exit. We exit whenever the price hits the range relative to our trading position (buy or sell)
    9. Therefore, our stops and price targets are moveable and dynamic, responding to price movements and market structure.
    10. However, the stop loss set at the start of the trade should not move (I prefer to leave it there. Anyway, I have estimated my risk before placing the trade)

  3. money

    1. If I don't have at least $10,000 and a margin of at least 1:100, my trade will not exceed 0.01
    2. Better to switch to a cent account. You'll have plenty of room to play

  4. Transaction interval

    1. Make transaction interval selectable. This is the distance between transactions. We don't want to cluster all trades around the same price.
    2. This brings some comfort when we grieve over the falling knife.
    3. Trading interval is defined by points and should be a percentage of ADR
    4. So if the ADR is 100 and I use a 25% trade interval, it means that I will take the next trade signal only if the signal occurs at least 25 pips lower than the previous trade.
    5. Therefore, the trading interval is based on the ADR characteristics.

I don't have a crystal ball

  1. So I don't know if this strategy is profitable.
  2. But general rules of thumb and experience show that if done correctly, we can probably make more than we lose

What strategy is not

  1. This is not a holy grail
  2. it's not a crystal ball
  3. This is not a get rich quick system

what to do next

  1. try strategies
  2. publish chart
  3. civil discussion

Thread rules

  1. No fighting, no arguing, no swearing
  2. Keep your language civil and respectful to others
  3. Read all links above before commenting
  4. Do your homework. No one will answer questions that have already been answered
  5. We will not accept repaint issues (please read the link about repaints)
  6. Please do not post indicators or commercial content in this post.
