List of Linear Regression Slope Indicators
The Linear Regression Slope indicator is used to detect significant levels of trend reversal or breakout in markets such as Forex and Cryptocurrencies. This trading tool identifies three key points for entering a trade:
- Point 1: The beginning of the main wave, which can be a recent significant high or low;
- Point 2 : The end of the correction wave or the first significant change in price direction;
- Point 3 : The second adjustment action, the trend may reverse or break through.
The main difference between the Zigzag indicator and this trading tool is the display of fluctuations and the identification of trigger points, where level 2 price breakouts trigger significant shifts in market momentum.
Indicators are in an upward trend
The price chart below shows the EUR/HKD currency pair on a 15-minute time frame.
When the linear regression slope is positive and continuously increasing, it indicates strong upward momentum and rapid price growth within the 15-minute time frame.
A breakout of the slope from zero to a positive number typically signals the start of an uptrend, while a sustained increase in slope signals an acceleration in price action, thereby indicating an entry range for a buy trade.

Indicators are in a downward trend
The chart below shows the Bitcoin (BTC/USD) Index on the 15-minute time frame.
When the linear regression slope is negative and decreasing, it indicates strong selling pressure and rapid price decline.
A breakout of the slope from zero to negative is generally considered a sign of the beginning of a downtrend, and its continued decline confirms continued price decline.
This signal is more reliable when accompanied by a bearish candlestick pattern or high trading volume.

Conclusion
The Linear Regression Slope indicator identifies the direction and strength of market momentum by measuring the slope of the regression line over a specified period.
The result of this is displayed by the trading tool as a histogram, with bars above the zero line indicating an upward trend and bars below the zero line indicating a downward trend.
