Murray Math Swing Progression - MT4/MT5 Resources

author EAcpu | 3 reads | 0 comments |

I designed this system specifically for people like me who don't like trading shorter time frames. After owning a business, I don't have time to wake up at 2am, sit in front of a screen all night, and then go to work at 8am. I love spending time with my family and this system allows me to do that.

Chart settings

The only indicators I use are the Murrey indicator, the Amplified Market Price indicator (for visual effects only), and the ZigZag indicator for directional confirmation and possible early exits. I use daily because the Murray indicator (no matter which version you use) is known to redraw a new Murray line period after a period of time after the old Murray line completes, and this is usually different each time. Sometimes it can take 6 months or more before you can redraw your indicator. I have access to all 25 currency pairs listed below (because the system trades infrequently), and I'm testing gold charts. You can trade any currency pair with this, so choose any currency pair you like, especially if you have pairs such as GBP/TL, EUR/TL, and USD/TL. The reason is that I only trade if I can earn positive swaps, and experimenting with currency pairs is the best option.

Use pair

EUR/USD, GBP/USD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, USD/CHF, EUR/CHF, GBP/CHF, CAD/CHF, NZD/CHF, AUD/CHF, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY, CHF/JPY, AUD/JPY, CAD/JPY, GBP/JPY, NZD/JPY, USD/CAD, AUD/CAD, GBP/CAD, EUR/GBP, GBP/AUD, GBP/NZD, AUD/NZD, EUR/NZD and gold.

Transaction parameters

Okay, let's get started. The basis of this system is that we will place three buy limit or sell limit pending orders at these Murray levels and double the lot size when we break lower or higher on the ladder. For example, for a short trade:

8/8 -1 batch
+1/8 -2 hands
+2/8 -4 hands

For a long trade, you would trade like this:

0/8 -1 lot
-1/8 -2 hands
-2/8 -4 hands

You can place any lot size you want there. When price rebounds from these key levels, I scale back on the upside or downside to help recover losing positions. Why? Remember, price does not always stop at the 8/8 or 0/8 level as you think. Many times, the price will break out and continue touching the +1/8 and -1/8 levels, and sometimes even the +2/8 and -2/8 levels.

Before placing these orders, I check where the price is relative to the middle 4/8 Murrey line. If it's above the above levels, I'd like to place an order at overbought levels. If below, I would place them at oversold levels. My initial stop loss will be over the +2/8 or -2/8 level, you can trail it if you want, but I won't move my stop loss until I break a few levels. If you still want to track, I recommend taking the difference X 2 between the two Murray lines to give the trade some breathing room. You will experience larger losses due to larger time frames, stop loss and take profit levels, so use smart money management to trade safely.

Taking profit is always at your discretion, but I would use the 2/8 and 6/8 strong levels to take profit. Sometimes, if my ZigZag indicator shows an opposite arrow, I might consider closing the trade early just to be safe and not get too greedy. Again, take advantage of these longer trades by only trading as long as you can earn positive swaps!
