good day,

Although I have seen a few posts discussing Bill Williams' indicators, I decided to automate the "Three Wise Men" strategy outlined in his book Trading Chaos - Second Edition, combined with some ideas of my own.

Indicators used (standard MT4 indicators, all with default settings) :

  1. Crocodile
  2. Super Oscillator (AO)
  3. Fractal

definition:

  1. BUDB : Bullish Divergence Bar

    1. has a lower low than the previous bar, and
    2. Must close in the upper half of its range

  2. EDB : Bearish Divergence Pillar

    1. has a higher high than the previous bar, and
    2. Must close in the lower half of its range

  3. Angle : I will use my own definition of angle. If the distance between the high point of BUDB or the low point of BEDB and the alligator lip is greater than the distance between the alligator lip and the alligator jaw, I think the angle is good.

3 Wise Man Trading Possibilities:

  1. Breaking through an effective divergent column (good angle and opposite color AO) - single entry
  2. Breakout of third consecutive bar, AO color similar to first Wise Trade direction - multiple entry points
  3. Breakout of the complete fractal in the trading direction - multiple entries

Long entry:
A buy stop order type will be used, with the user inputting buffer points for entry and stop loss, as follows:

  1. Break a (BUDB), stop loss at BUDB low
  2. Break through the third bar corresponding to the third AO green bar. This may generate multiple additional entries as the transaction progresses.
  3. Breakout of the upward fractal in the direction of the trade. This may generate multiple additional entries as the transaction progresses.

Short entry:
A stop sell order type will be used and the user enters buffer points for entry and stop loss as shown below:

  1. Break through a (BEDB), stop loss at BEDB high
  2. Break through the third bar corresponding to the third AO red bar. This may generate multiple additional entries as the transaction progresses.
  3. Breakout of the downward fractal in the direction of the trade. This may generate multiple additional entries while the transaction is live

quit:

  1. by hitting the initial stop (or trailing stop), or
  2. When an opposite divergence bar signal appears (all positions are closed and reversed)
