This is indicator version 1 and is used to generate buy/sell signal alerts in multiple ways. This metric is only meant to simplify work, not eliminate it! The indicator requires Laguerre.ex4 to be present in the Indicators folder (no need to attach it, but not a problem if you have attached it to the chart). If you don't have Laguerre.ex4, I've attached a version here.
My addition: One thing I have found is that it is better to wait for the signal bar (bar before the arrow) range to be broken a few points in our direction. I think this is additional confirmation (in addition to the others noted in the main thread). Also, I use this as a time to start analyzing, rather than a time to jump right in. When the sound/alert comes on, I analyze the chart, I don't even look at it until then.

This indicator uses slightly different settings, optimized by Imran specifically for this alert system. Although the signal is slightly delayed, it eliminates many false signals.
Details of the method and how it can be further improved/filtered can be seen in the following thread and the link below. Please read the first article carefully and practice/simulate trading first until you get a feel for the system before jumping into actual trading.

This new alert was added on October 22, 2007.
It is made by LISPA and is currently set up by default to use the ASCTrend1sig-imran.ex4 signal.
It is not necessary to attach the ASC indicator to the chart, but the file should be present (from http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...postcount=2341 ).
The alert system will use ASC indi and create the same alerts/messages as LISPA.
This signal only appears after the bar is closed and will appear on new bars.
Please report any issues with this program here.

The default settings are fine and don't really need to be changed. However,
gamma1, gamma2 are used for two lags. MA2 is a two lagging moving average. (LISPA1A only - new).
Upper Level = 0.85; (LISPA1A-new only; LowerLevel is calculated as 1.00 - UpperLevel).
Maximum number of bars = 1000; increase it for visual backtesting (do not reduce below 200).
Arrow Distance = 10; 10 points from the previous bar range; if you see too much overlap, increase it; if the arrow signal is too far away, decrease it. If it's too far away, the signal will also disappear from the screen.
V line width = 1; vertical line width. To remove it, give a value less than 1. (LISPA1A-new only)
UseLaguerre2Filter = false; It is very basic filter and not as good as human filter. Therefore, it is currently not recommended (but you can test it and use it if you want; it seems fine on 1 minute charts).
SendEmail = False; an email will be sent when the signal arrow appears in the chart (see details below on how to set up email sending). Very useful for users with longer time ranges (even 15M or 60M+, although we usually use 1M or 5M charts).
popupalert = false; when a new signal arrives, it will popup an alert window.
text_signal=True; this will display the last signal direction as text with the new bar start time.
Text position = 700; in pixels, you can move the text horizontally into empty space if needed.
SoundAlert = True; the selected sound file will be played when a new signal arrives. This way we know there is a signal in one of the charts without having to keep looking at the chart and doing other things while we wait. Great for monitoring multiple charts without straining your eyes.
Sound file = alert; by default, the alert.wav file placed in the MT4/sounds folder (this file comes with MT4) is used. You can put any .wav file into this folder and change the name here and use it. Only the first part of the name is used (the file extension must be .wav and is assumed to be .wav).
Sound Time 1 = 800; Sound Time 2 = 1600; these two are the time ranges in which the sound works (we don't want to hear it while sleeping!). This is local time, not broker time. If you want to keep it open all the time, use zero and 2500.

How to change indicator settings:

I hope you know how to change the settings. If you don't know, you can do it (for any indicator) in two ways.
1. Delete the indicator and reattach it. When connected, a pop-up window will allow you to change settings.
2. Right-click on the indicator's line or arrow and you can select the "Indicator" properties menu. This will be the same as what you see when connecting a new indicator (as in point 1). You can change the displayed settings.
Some data requires entering numbers. Some require you to choose between True or False. The filter needs to be selected between true/false. If "false" is selected, Lag2 must be analyzed. If you select "true", the program will analyze Lag2, but not as well as a human can do (it is still version 1 after all, the program is too strict with the rules)!

1. Go to Tools --> Options.
2. Select the Email tab.
3. Click the Enable box and fill in all information.
4. Test it and you’re good to go.
(5. Long time users can even have it sent to their mobile via email2sms service, this is one of the ideas to provide this option, but it may not be needed at the moment).
