EA based on moving average - MT4/MT5 resources
Hello fellow members of Forex Factory,
I have been using Forex Factory's services for a few months, but it was only recently that I started using the forum. I'm impressed by the Ubuntu feel that many of you have shared. For that, I give you all the praise. If you honestly know that you don't share this sense of "I am because we are," don't hesitate to skip this topic. This just saves everyone time and energy. Thanks in advance.
If I want to ask you for help, I think a brief introduction is appropriate. You can call me by my usual online name; Frizak. I live in the Netherlands and I am 19 years old at the time of writing this article. Please do not in any way use this as a valid excuse for my actions, thoughts, or performance. I am an entrepreneur and self-employed and no longer in school. To avoid confusion, I decided not to continue my studies after completing my studies. It was a conscious choice and I still believe 100% that it was the right choice. After taking online private forex courses, my forex knowledge slowly increased, but I also knew that I wasn't there yet. That's one of the reasons I love going on adventures with you.
My programmers and I co-developed an expert advisor based on an idea that one of my classmates and I had. This expert advisor comes mainly because I can't control my emotions when it comes to money.
Enough has been said about me. Let's talk about EA and how it works. The principle of EA is very simple. The EA uses moving averages and calculates the angle of the line every 1M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 1H, 4H, daily, weekly or monthly depending on the selected time frame. When the degree reaches the preset value, it will automatically position. The system is designed to work on every time frame, at least in theory. The EA has many adaptability options and can be adapted to your own ideas within the system. For example, I use this system on 21 different currency pairs on the daily time frame. But I'm pretty sure this isn't the best option. So I want to work with you to find the best settings.
The following options are available in the EA:
- Lot risk is the percentage of available equity divided by the risk divisor
- Fixed lot size (disabled lot risk)
- Stop loss
- Take profits
- EMA period
- transformation
- Moving average method
- Applicable prices
- Angle coefficient
- Use trigger lines as part of an open standard
- Close trade when trigger line changes
- Turn off angle coefficient reversal trading
- If the angle is flat at the bar close, close
- If the angle is reversed, the order is closed on the bar
- Initial stop loss move; SL level to move to
- Use trailing stop; trailing stop every xx points
- Limit trading to a set time (using MT4 broker time)
- Do the following a few minutes before the news is released
- Add stop loss/take profit before news in losing trades
- Close profitable trades before news releases
- Do not open a position before news is released
Each of these options can be turned on or off.
Since the EA uses real-time feedback to track red news, it is more difficult to test the EA using a strategy tester. I have added the historical data of 2013 news in the appendix, which needs to be placed in the "MT4\tester\files" folder. When running the EA in the strategy tester, you need to manually enter the offset between GMT and MT4 (positive if MT4 is earlier than GMT and vice versa) (don't forget to adjust for daylight saving time during the run if needed).
To protect the asset, I am providing everyone with a serial number, at least temporarily, until August 31, 2014. The serial number is: 04gp-RvYg-NUd2-HXaS
I probably forgot to tell you something. If this is the case, please feel free to address the issue so I can respond as quickly as possible and provide appropriate feedback.
If you have questions, feel free to ask them.
I will add other historical data in 2013 in the next article.
Thank you for your time and I apologize for the possible misuse of English grammar.
Best regards,
Frizak
