Post #151 provides a description and comments on the indicator.

Note #4

########################################################################

In his post " Jake Bernstein 10 SMA High 8 SMA Low Trading System " https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/…high-8-sma-low, @Toto69 demonstrates his personal trading variations as well as some discretionary trading options. I have read several of Jake's books and here I have posted some reviews and indicators of the 10/8 trading concept.
Here I only post a small indicator, I will continue to post more stuff and EAs when I have time, but everyone can test their ideas and apply other trend following or countertrend variants.
I will update the indicator if any errors are found.

Note #1 - The trend is established when the body of the candle is above/below the HiLo MA, which is slightly earlier than the 2-3 highs/lows rule outside of the channel rule.

Note #2 - The same indicator can be used for trends on the upper time frame.
It is very simple to see that in the trend area (such as D1), the number of green bars in the long direction is greater than the number of red bars, for example. Therefore, for example, we should only consider the long-term trend in the first half of the year, because the long-term direction part can cause smaller losses.

Note #3 - The indicator shows possible entry points when the trend changes (short horizontal lines above/below the thick line = Open_CurrentBar or HiLo_PreviousBar).
The first line corresponds to entry and the second line to take profit.
The distance is calculated based on the width of the channel. I suggest you compare them with ATR and you will see that my calculations are a little better.

NOTE #4 - The first idea in trading is to set a trailing stop the same as the calculated distance between the lines after entering the trade.
When a loss occurs when the exit level is reached, a trade in the opposite direction (small hedging trade) should be made using the same trailing stop.
Anyone checking this rule will find the use of martingale very beneficial (I'm curious if anyone does this...).
The lot size can be calculated as a percentage of funds, and the number of simultaneous orders can be limited, etc.

---------------

There are many ways to trade jack channels and I can only comment on a few of my variations. The potential is huge if the analysis and testing takes a little longer...
