(This is an ongoing document and will contain additions and modifications to the policy)
The latest version is 4.4h
Hello and welcome,
I have been testing many indicators and programs over the years to determine which combinations work best and most importantly which combinations are the most accurate. Based on all my learning and research, I came up with the following plan. I call this program
Symphony Trading System
Named for the combination of indicators used to determine tops and bottoms for placing orders and exit strategies to maximize profits. These four forces at work in the market are: trends , , Emotions , and limits both promote each other. The Symphonie Trader system works together like the components of Symphonie. The sound produced by each instrument individually is weak, however; when the complete symphony is put together, the beautiful music has rich sounds and textures
The four indicators are:
Symphony Extreme indicator *
Symphonic Mood Indicator
Symphony Sentiment Indicator*
Symphony Trendline Indicator
(* - These were easily redrawable in older versions, not so easy in version 3.0)
Basically, you are following the color change of my n four indicators and only place an order (sell or buy) if all of these indicators point in one direction.
Placing an order without confirming all 4 signals simultaneously will not work while waiting for all 4 indicators to tell you when to take action.
Remember, conflicts are common in the market and can cause you to buy when you should be selling, and vice versa. This system is designed to calm market volatility by sending signals about the true direction of the market. I'm attaching screenshots of 3 scenarios to help you understand better.
As you can see, we loaded 4 indicators into 4 divided windows.
Symphony Trendline Indicator - A
Symphony Extreme Indicator - B
Symphonic Mood Indicator - C
Symphony Sentiment Indicator - D
I have also attached a basic Symphonie system trading cycle diagram showing how Symphonie's theory is developed. Again, the Symphonie isn't designed to get top or bottom; Symphonie is designed to capture the body of price action movement.
Money Management Strategy Rules and Guidelines
Proper money management skills are crucial to becoming a good and successful currency trader. Money management is by far the most important skill to master if you want to be successful in Forex trading. Money management is simply a system you adopt to effectively preserve capital while increasing your profits. In other words, a good system will help you avoid losing all your money and help you make money.
Account Ratio System (ARS) and Order Size
It is important to maintain an appropriate Account Ratio System (ARS) based on the size of your total account balance. This is to ensure that your account does not become overextended and suffer significant account losses, or even a margin call on the account resulting in the loss of all tradable capital in the account. In order to do this correctly, a ratio system needs to be established based on the 1000 basis point ratio rule.
ARS basically states that every 1000 lots in the account will equal a trading lot allowance of 0.10 lots. Therefore, the maximum total trading volume for 1000 accounts is 0.10 lots. Based on this system, you will maintain the following ratios.
ARS ratio system
1000 equals 0.10 lots
2000 equals 0.20 lots
3000 equals 0.30 lots
4000 equals 0.40 lots
5000 equals 0.50 lots
6000 equals 0.60 lots
7000 equals 0.70 lots
8000 equals 0.80 lots
9000 equals 0.90 lots
10000 equals 1.00 lots
etc……
However, this does not mean that only one order can be traded at a time. The system simply indicates that the maximum open order does not exceed the ARS system rate limit. Therefore, if there is 5k in the account, the maximum mini lot size cannot exceed 0.50 ARS total. Orders can be organized in any combination desired.
Example
5K equals 0.50 ARS of the total number of open orders
(any combination)
(5) 0.10 lots....
(3) 0.10 lots and (1) 0.20 lots…
(2) 0.20 lots and (1) 0.10 lots…
(1)0.20 lot and (1)0.30 lot…
(1)0.50 lots
ARS keeps a trader's maximum risk to 3% or less of total market risk based on a 30 pip stop loss.
entry point strategy
Entry and exit strategies are simple. For placing an order, you need to wait until there is an extreme spike (opposite color change) and the other 3 indicators show the same color in the extreme direction. Therefore, we will execute the order on the closing price when all 4 indicators point in the same direction. As an alternative to better protect stress levels, do not execute "Market Orders" but use the "Pending Orders" function.
Why is it a pending order? Simple ; one can avoid zigzag pullbacks. This usually happens at the beginning of a symphony signal as the price action breaks out of the edge of the range. Sometimes, an advantage holds and price action reverses, which can result in a loss on the order. Pending orders keep one on the edge of a breakout and in line with the trend versus the action of chasing price using market orders. Let the market come to you and give you ideas. The disadvantage of pending orders is that people enter the market at a higher price (buy) or a lower price (sell) than using market orders. (usually 7 points)
Order account balance protection
For this system, I recommend a very conservative order protection loss system. As soon as the order is executed, a stop loss of 50 pips is assigned to the order. If the market moves against you, you will only lose a small amount of money compared to without a stop loss, whereas if the market moves against you, without a stop loss, your losses can be very large. As an alternative, most of the time you might use the previous swing high/low as your stop loss, you will find that this is always less than 50 pips, but remember that the smaller/tighter your stop loss, the greater the chance of your stop loss being hit by a washout.
(dynamic stop loss)
The key is to protect your orders, minimize losses and maximize profits. Once the order is placed, set a stop loss immediately. Once the number of pips exceeds positive 30 pips (the market moves 30 pips in your favor), move your stop loss to 3 pips in front of the order to prevent any losses on the trade. This will ensure you gain at least 3 pips of profit if market conditions suddenly change.
Alternative to Dynamic Stop Loss (more labor intensive on all timeframes)
Again, the key is to protect your orders to minimize losses and maximize profits. Once the order is placed, set a stop loss immediately. For open orders, specify a 30 pip stop loss. As the number of pips exceeds the positive value of 10 pips (the market moves 10 pips in your favor), move the stop loss to the breakeven +1 pip before the order to prevent any losses on the trade. As pips over 30 pips are positive (the market moves 30 pips in your favor), move the stop loss to the breakeven point + 3 pips before the order to prevent any losses on the trade. This will ensure you gain at least 3 pips of profit if market conditions suddenly change.
Yes, in a wash operation, you may be stopped out more frequently, but in this case, it usually means that the market is not ready to move in the direction of your order, and you can wait for a new pricing operation, which usually means that the price of the second pending order is better than the price of the first pending order, because the market is simply not ready.
** - On higher timeframes of 15 minutes, it is recommended to set a stop loss of 75 pips, on time frames of 1 hour and above, a minimum stop loss of 100 pips is recommended. This is just a guideline. Please use the stop loss level that you feel most comfortable with. However, for a 100 pip stop loss, you would use the 1/2 ARS number as the maximum lot size.
exit strategy
The system exit strategy is simple, but there are three possible levels of exit depending on how conservative or aggressive it is.
Exit strategy one. (most conservative)
When a trend indicator shows a change in trend value (i.e. a change in color), exit the trade at the close of that candlestick. This strategy ensures that you get all your profits from one trade. The disadvantage of this strategy is that you will exit the order when the final level may not be fully completed, and you may miss out on additional profits. If price action moves are stronger than the cycle extremes, it is a sign that people may exit at the first onset of a strong move and miss out on the entire move.
Exit strategy two. (moderately aggressive)
When the Extreme indicator shows an extreme change (spike or v3.0 color change ) exit the trade halfway through at the close of that candlestick. ( One thing to note...once you get an extreme spike, wait 3 or 4 bars to see it, Extreme will stay or quit first as of version 3.0). If not redrawn, exit at end of measure 4/beginning of measure 5. (See post # 5177 )) This strategy ensures that you get half the profit from the trade when the move reaches extreme points. The second half of the order will continue to run until the trend line changes color. Once the trendline changes color, exit at the close of that candlestick. With this strategy, if price action moves stronger than the indicated extreme points, half of your orders have the potential to be further profitable, and you can gain additional moving points. The disadvantage is that if extreme values hit the target and the rally rebounds you may hit your 3 pip positive stop loss and lose half of your profit.
Something to note...once you get the extreme value, you can wait 3 or 4 bars to see if the extreme value holds. If not redrawn, exit at end of measure 4/beginning of measure 5. (see post # 5177 ) or exit when extreme values change.
Exit strategy three. (most offensive) "Gambler"
When all four indicators show a color change (flash or v3.0 color change) people will not exit the order and look for a second indicator order to execute based on the new signal. With this strategy, you have the potential to make further gains if price action moves stronger than the indicated extreme points, and you can capture all additional moves with a full order. The disadvantage is that if the extreme value reaches the target and rebounds, the price action may hit your 3 pip positive stop loss and you will lose the potential profit. This exit strategy is also known as a "signal-to-signal" exit. See post # 2885
Special exception for exit strategies (original version only ) This exception applies to all exit strategies and supersedes them. When a trade generates extreme spikes before reaching 30 pips..., exit the trade immediately .
Symphony 5% Growth Strategy
Incorporate the Symphony Method into a solid growth plan that works to build accounts and minimize account losses. By using the ARS method, you only risk: 3 % per trade . Combined with a modest 5% for a weekly profit target. That's right! Earn 1% (i.e. 10 pips of profit) every day. It's great if you go over 10 pips because it will even out the bad days when you are losing... (trust me, it happens, to everyone) The overall strategy is to make a total of 50 pips net profit for your account every week. Very capable. Now, with the Symphony approach, we have a 2-year growth plan. I have attached a spreadsheet that will demonstrate the power of this strategy based on a $1000 investment over 104 weeks (i.e. 2 years). It is attached to this article or post # 14318 . I think this is a perfect strategy for those who cannot trade full time.
