There are many band type indicators, and almost all work in a very similar way: take some basic value as the center value, and draw the bands equidistantly above and below. This surrounds the price nicely, but often results in lag when the trend reverses (because the opposite sideband is too far away from the current price).
This indicator is one of the ways to avoid this situation. Instead of using equidistant bands, these bands are asymmetrical.
When prices are above average, the floor narrows. Additionally, when the price is below the average line, the upper limit narrows. This brings the "opposite side" band closer to the mean over time and allows signals on the band to break out faster and faster than any "regular" band indicator.
