my new, extremely simple, 2 indicator sc scalping/5 minute method (my new, extremely simple, 2 indicator sc)
Hello, I have recently invented this simple scalping system that I have only used on the EUR/USD 5 minute chart.
index:
MACD Histogram: Default setting, lines drawn at 0, +.0002, -.0002
Zero Lag Stochastic [ZLS], set to: Smoothing: 2 Time Range: 5 [I don't think the time range setting really does anything, but I'm using it on 5 anyway] Horizontal lines are at: 20, 50 and 80
(Optional) Moving Averages: 21, 50 EMA, this is not an official part of the system, I am testing them to see how they work as filters to only trade in the direction they indicate... no matter which side of the 50 EMA we are looking to trade in, it has worked, but I have not officially made it part of the system yet, as I said before.
Signal
We are looking for MACD and ZLS (Zero Lag Stochastic) to agree, but it is difficult to explain what we are looking for in ZLS, the concept is simple but difficult to express in words.
For a bull signal, we want the MACD to be above zero and the short stochastic line to be above the long ZLS line (red above white), then we want a crossover below the ZLS white crossover line, and then when it crosses up (red above white), the Macd must always stay above -.0002 and the white ZLS line below red (sometimes the signal will be stronger if the MACD stays above zero, but using -.ooo2 is fine.)
If a long signal is given with a final cross above 80, the signal is ignored.
This shows us that the market tried to fall, but was too strong to fall with any force, before being beaten back by the bulls and slingshotted higher.
Once you close there are some white lines above the red lines in KLS and the MACD histogram is above -.0002 the entire time you buy the next candle.
For long signals everything is the same, just in reverse.
MACD must stay below +.0002
Also, if you want, you can use the 21 and 50 EMA as filters and only accept long signals if 21 is above 50, and only accept short signals if 50 is above 21. This isn't officially part of the system as I'm still testing it, but I'm getting mixed results so far. It will keep me away from three trades today. One I lost 10 points, one I gained 1 point, and the other I gained +15 points.
So you can test it yourself as I go on and maybe we can make a decision or find a better filter.
I want to improve this system with ForexFactroy, but I also want to keep KISS. Very simple. Stupid.
For money management I use 10 pips stop loss (I am considering using 10+ pips, for me EURUSD the stop loss is 12 pips but for now I am sticking with 10) and
I hit +4 and I'll break even.
+5 I set it to b/e+1
+8 b/e+2
+10 be+3
+15 be+6
+18 be+8
+20 becomes +10 and continues this way until I hit +15, then I set a trailing stop (minimum 15 pips) and then I leave it on until I get stopped out or I see something that makes me want to sell, like a ZLS cross in the opposite direction
Does anyone else have any thoughts on the SL plan? I'm not very confident about this.
Any questions or comments please feel free to ask and I will post today's trading day. The arrow shows the direction in which the trade was made, the green line means profit, red means unprofitable and white means breakeven or no trade was made, since the signal is given in the no-trade zone (above 80 or below 20)
Thanks and enjoy.
