The oscillator TATR (scaled average true amplitude) represents the simplified ATR, calculated as the average of the true amplitude (TR). True amplitude can be found as the maximum of:
Tick True Range can be found as the difference (absolute value) between the current closing price and the previous closing price
The indicator has three input parameters:
TATR[i] = moving average (AP, period, method)
Where:
AP[i] = Abs(price[i] - price[i-1])
