Adaptation is typically an attempt to determine the volatility of a market and then adjust calculations based on the volatility to reflect times of higher or lower volatility. There are few methods for determining volatility, and one has long been overlooked: RSI. As a momentum indicator and already limited to a known range (0 to 100), it is a good tool for adjusting your approach.
This indicator:
EMA (Exponential Moving Average) can be calculated using fractional periods (ie: it can use period 14.5, not just period 14 or 15), which makes it suitable for adaptation. Therefore, this is an EMA that uses the RSI to adapt to the market. The parameters are the usual ones: RSI period and price used in the calculation. Usage is similar to any averaging method, additionally you can use color changes as signals, but this should be done with caution
