RSI (Relative Strength Index) is well known and widely used. Sometimes it is used in conjunction with certain filtering methods to avoid some false signals that RSI can produce under certain market conditions. Here is another version that will try to solve the problem by using RSI filter

This version uses the step chart as a filter to reduce the number of signals generated by RSI and (if possible) make it easier and safer to use. The step size will be entered as a percentage of RSI and you wish to use it as a filter for the smallest RSI change that should be considered a significant change

Use the color change of the step bar as a signal
