RSX (Relative Strength Quality Index) does not use "pure" prices for its calculation, but rather uses an adaptive lookback average filtered price.
Price filter for rsx:
The advantage of using filtered (smoothed) prices is that certain error signals are filtered out in the signal source itself (by the average price) and are omitted (error signals) in the RSX calculation as well. Additionally, since the average is adaptive, it implicitly makes RSX adaptive as well
ALB averages that can be used:
Some experimentation with parameters is recommended, but it is common to use this RSX: either use slope or some significant signal level crossover
