John Ehlers on the "Time Warp - No Space Travel" document. In its original version, it did not use a period parameter, which somewhat limited its use in some versions.
For versions using period parameters, the indicator can be used in some "classic" adaptation modes. This version uses the ATR (Average True Range) adaptive method.
You can use color changes as signals.
A "big picture" example comparing "normal" (gray line) and adaptive (colored line) Laguerre filters. It's clear that the adaptive version is faster where it should be (it stays as smooth as it should be at times of high volatility and calibration changes) and is ahead of the "regular" version almost all the time.
