This calculation method deviates from usual momentum calculations. Momentum is calculated as the sum of the absolute differences between the current price and the price 1 period ago, then compared to the ratio of the current price to the price several (N) periods ago.
ABS momentum = SUM(ABS(CLOSE(i)-CLOSE(i-1))
Momentum = Close(i) > Close(iN) ? ABS Momentum: - ABS Momentum
