Indicator overview

The standard deviation channel indicator consists of five key lines :

  1. Midline: represents the moving average of price and serves as the central axis of the channel.
  2. Upper Inner Line: The first positive standard deviation from the midline, acting as a short-term resistance level;
  3. Lower Inner Line: The first negative standard deviation from the midline, as the short-term support level;
  4. Upper Outer Line: The second positive standard deviation from the midline indicates an overbought market;
  5. Lower Outer Line: The second negative standard deviation from the midline, indicating an oversold market.

Indicators are bullish

In the EUR/USD chart, the standard deviation channel draws a bullish channel . When the price moves upward from the upper channel line, you can consider buying a position on the lower channel line and crosses the midline .

Set the take profit near the upper channel line and the stop loss below the lower line .

Indicators bearish trend
