This MACD uses the so called rma average for MACD calculation.
Considering that rma is a variant of SMA, the resulting MACD values are almost surprisingly "fast" compared to the regular EMA version. It also has some interesting properties when it comes to the period following a very unstable period. Anyway seems to be a useful tool among the various MACD variant series
