According to the author Vitali Apilin , the width of the moving average indicator can be used as a volatility indicator.
Vitali Aspirin :
As volatility increases, the distance between bands will expand, and as volatility decreases, the distance between bands will shrink. Moving Average Bandwidth (MABW) measures the percentage difference between frequency bands. Changes in this difference may indicate an impending shift or change in trend.
In this version, the only deviation from the original version published in TASC's August 2021 magazine is that the indicator plots cycles when the band width reaches red extreme lows (as a sign of possible expansion after extreme congestion)
