John Ehlers explains how he enhances RSI by utilizing Hann windows in his article "(Yet Another) Improvement on RSI" in the January 2022 issue of TASC. The RSIH indicator provides smoother calculations than the classic RSI and has zero mean. The smoothing inherent in the calculation eliminates the need for supplementary filtering.
