This script was written to constitute the article "Machine Learning: How to Use Support Vector Machines in Trading" published on the MQL5 website.

Imagine this hypothetical scenario, you are a researcher investigating a rare animal called Shnicks that is only found in the deep Arctic. Given the remoteness of these animals, only a small number (assumed to be around 5,000) have been discovered. As a researcher, you'll have questions like this... How do I identify Schnick?

All you can use are previously published research papers by a few researchers. In these research papers, the authors describe certain characteristics they found in Schnickers, namely height, weight, number of legs, etc., but all of these characteristics vary between research papers with no obvious pattern….

How can we use this data to identify new animals as schnicks?

One possible solution to our problem is to use support vector machines to identify patterns in the data and create a framework that can be used to classify animals as schnick or non-schnick. The first step is to create a set of data that can be used to train a support vector machine to recognize schnicks. The training data is a set of inputs and matching outputs that the support vector machine analyzes and extracts patterns.

This script attempts to demonstrate the ability to use support vector machines to solve classification style problems by using support vector machine learning tools. MQL5 Market . A full description of this hypothetical problem and script can be found in the article "Machine Learning: How to Use Support Vector Machines in Trading" . This article explains how to use the script and this question provides insight into using machine learning to assess market trends.
