TW Trend Following Forex Trading Strategy FREE DownloadTW Trend Following Forex Trading Strategy FREE Download

The TW system is a Forex trading strategy that uses a trend following strategy. The system is based on 15 different indicators. The system itself is quick to learn and very easy to implement, even if you are completely new to trading.

It uses a variety of momentum and moving average based indicators to form advanced trend following strategies. The system closely monitors market trends, draws trading signals within the direction of the trend, and generates exit signals for its users.

It can be applied to all currency pairs and works best on major currency pairs. In terms of timeframes, it works best on the M30 and 4-hour timeframes. These time frames usually produce the best results. However, the TW system can be traded on all other timeframes with similar success.

This forex trading strategy is completely manual. Indicators generate signals, but any decision to enter the market and set a protective stop or a profitable exit stop will be up to the trader. Therefore, traders must become familiar with the principles of risk and reward and use initial support and resistance areas to set up entries and exits.

Trend following indicators can provide you with trading signals that you can do as is or add additional chart analysis as suggested to filter the signals further . While the system can be used by traders of all experience levels, it may be helpful to practice trading on an MT4 demo account until you become consistent and confident enough to go online.

Indicators used in this Forex trading strategy

The Forex trading strategy uses 15 custom indicators. Here's an explanation of some of these indicators.

  • Serpentine and T3 Moving Average: These two indicators intersect and produce a crossover signal. A snake above the T3 moving average represents a bullish crossover and the opposite will be considered a bearish crossover signal.
  • Support/Resistance and Pivot Customization: Both indicators define the event areas of the market. Draw support/resistance levels for short-term trading and pivot custom levels for intraday and long-term trading purposes.
  • AFL Winner: AFL Winner is a momentum indicator used to indicate overbought/oversold conditions in the market. A value near 11 indicates that the market is oversold, and a value near 95 is considered to be overbought.
  • Trend Special, xSuper Trend & FSP: All three indicators identify market trends in a similar way. When the trend is bullish, all bars of these indicators turn yellow and transition to red to indicate bearish momentum in the market.

Trading rules for this trend following strategy

When using a trend following strategy, remember to tighten your stops around high-impact news releases or avoid trading for at least 15 minutes before or after these events.

As always, to achieve good results, remember proper money management. To become a profitable trader, you must master discipline, emotions, and psychology. Knowing when to trade and when not to trade is crucial. Avoid trading during adverse times and market conditions, such as low volume/volatility conditions, outside of main trading hours, exotic currency pairs, wide spreads, etc.

Buy Entry

  • The snake moves above the T3 moving average.
  • Price is supported by lower support/resistance or pivot custom levels.
  • AFL rebounds from oversold levels
  • Trend Session, xSuper Trend, and FSP turn yellow at the same time
  • A buy is triggered when all the above conditions are met

Sell Entry

  • The snake moves below the T3 moving average.
  • Price is resisted by overhead support/resistance or pivot custom levels.

  • Trend Session, xSuper Trend, and FSP turn red at the same time

Trade Exist

Any position with this Forex trading indicator can be liquidated with a fixed profit target. Alternatively, profit targets should be set using previous support, resistance, or highs and lows as reference points . You may also manually exit the trade if system conditions reverse (opposite signals appear).

  • Exit the long position when the Snake and T3 moving averages draw a bearish/bullish crossover signal.

It is recommended to use stop loss . Set your stop loss below the entry price using previous support/resistance as reference points or previous high/low swings. The use of fixed stop loss settings without any reference point is not recommended.
