The ICT indicator collection is a comprehensive suite curated by the Inner Circle Trader methodology. Designed to provide traders with the precise tools to decode market behavior, this series is more than just a set of tools; it is a gateway to making informed trading decisions. Dig deeper, download and discover the potential these indicators have on your trading journey.

ICT stands for Insider Trader. In the world of Forex trading, ICT represents a set of methods, strategies and concepts specifically designed to decode the behavior of major market participants. The main concept is that by understanding the movements and decisions of these large entities, traders can make informed decisions and potentially take advantage of market movements. But before delving into these indicators and how they shape the foundations of ICT, it is necessary to understand the broader picture by comparing ICT with its similar indicators: the SMC indicator or the Smart Money Concept.

Smart Money Concepts and Insider Traders: What’s the Difference?

ICT (Inner Circle Traders) and SMC (Smart Money Concept) lay the foundation for the behavior and actions of large financial institutions, banks and hedge funds, collectively referred to as "smart money". These entities play a huge role in determining the direction of the market. Therefore, understanding their behavior is crucial to successful Forex trading.

Both SMC and ICT follow the principle of understanding and predicting the movements of “smart currencies”. However, the difference lies in the application and specific approach:

  • SMC (Smart Money Concepts) : Focuses on broader strategies such as market manipulation and the psychology behind smart money decisions. The goal is to understand when these large companies are looking to accumulate assets and when they are selling off assets so traders can travel with them.
  • ICT (Inner Circle Trader) : A deep dive into specific trading tools, techniques, and a host of indicators (some of which are detailed below) designed to understand, predict, and exploit intelligent money moves.

The SMC indicator is not an independent trading indicator system. Still, it can be very useful for your trading because of additional chart analysis, finding trade exit levels (TP/SL), etc. While the system can be used by traders of all experience levels, it may be helpful to practice trading on an MT4 demo account until you become consistent and confident enough to start using it. You can open a live or demo trading account with most Forex brokers.
