Since the EA will trade around New York closing time (16:00 – 18:00 New York time), the GMT time will be different in summer compared to winter (DST: Daylight Saving Time). However, the EA stores daylight saving time internally, so there is no need to manually adjust the trading time.

The EA should run on Forex indicators without interruption (also on Fridays) to store historical data.

For backtesting, it is important to have the correct GMT settings. Ideally, backtesting should be done using Tick Data Suite GMT+2 and US Daylight Savings Time.

Since this strategy trades around the time of the swap, the spreads are often very wide. You must use real spreads in backtesting. But keep in mind that spreads between brokers are often very different at this time.

EAs should be closed on days when important events occur, such as general elections in the UK, US or Europe!

Parameters

General trading setup

• Daily Stock Stop Loss Percentage: IMPORTANT: Please read point 6 in the blog post.
• Order Comments – This comment is displayed in the history tab for every trade.
• Magic Number – Personal magic number. The EA will only manage the position of chart symbols with that atomic number.
• Lot type – “fixed” or “increasing”, where the lot size is automatically calculated.
• Fix batches – fixed batch size in case batch type = fixed.
• Lot Step Size – by what proportion the lot size should be increased per equity step (if Lot Type = Increase).
• Equity Hard Stop – If equity falls below this level, the EA will close open positions (only for this strategy) and will not be able to open any new positions.
• Points – For a 5-digit broker, this might be 10, for a 4-digit broker, this might be 1.
• Slippage Points – Slippage points (points, not points) used in the Order Send() function.
• Maximum spread – the maximum spread allowed for entry. If 0 is smaller, automatic settings will be used, which are different for each currency pair.
• Time Settings

• Live GMT offset – Manually set GMT offset. This is usually not required.
• Skip Sunday – if true, the EA will not open positions on Sunday (GMT).
• Start Time GMT – The time (GMT) when the transaction started.
• GMT End Time – The time when trading ceases (GMT).
• Waiting minutes between entries on the same side – after a buy position, another buy position is allowed only after a given time. The same goes for selling positions. You will use this parameter to limit the potential total risk if you sleep during trading hours. If a loss occurs in the last hour, the EA will automatically increase the number of waiting minutes between entries by a quarter of an hour.
• Do not trade triple negative swaps – if true, the EA will not open trades when the swap is negative on days with triple swap rates before the swap time GMT.
• Triple Swap Date – The date on which the triple swap is applied. For most brokers, this day is Wednesday.
• Swap Time GMT – Use swap time if no trading occurs on Wednesday Negative swap = true.
• Tester GMT Offset – Only required for testers as GMT time is not defined in the tester and your bar graph data may require a GMT offset.
