Hello everyone:

<?xml:namespace prefix= on ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o> </o>

Welcome to a new week of deals. I'm going to start this post in a new thread so everyone doesn't have to go through the entire previous thread, and in the meantime I'm doing some important updates to my EA flyer! It will be easier to understand without having to read through all the little details of the last thread.

<o> </o>

Last week was another bad week for meek trading. We've seen EUR/USD move up and down all week, falling 75 points early on Friday. My personal trading had been doing well for the week until Friday, but took a bit of a hit on the news. I hope Friday the 13th is not so unfortunate for everyone. But I digress.

As for my EA flyer! Last week I had to admit that my results and data were extremely skewed and I couldn't give any accurate results because I was moving from one home to another and I couldn't keep my computer running because I was temporarily staying in a hotel. Hopefully I can get some more consistent testing this week since I won't be moving around too much. However, I did see some good deals and some bad deals over the last week. When looking at the statistics and checking the available data, I noticed that since the beginning of October we have started a different pattern in the market than in the past few months. Backtesting Flyer from Friday showed very consistent results, with some losses starting to occur as late as October. I believe everyone has found Flyer! While there were gains last week, there were also some losses. I hope each of you can find some settings that work better for you. This is part of the process of understanding the market. During my research, I discovered all kinds of little hidden bits of information that I hadn't really been aware of before.

In any case, many people are concerned about Flyer! Not exiting the trade early enough to prevent loss of profits if the position reverses and starts to move back up. I understand everyone's concerns because I've seen this particular issue arise as well. This is the problem with rapidly volatile markets. I have an answer to my question. I hope to release "FLYER! - VERSION B" within the next 24 hours along with the updated original version. Version B uses a different exit strategy while retaining the original entry conditions. B has performed pretty well in volatile markets so far in testing and has a slightly better win/loss ratio. However, its disadvantage is that it fails to capture the huge gains that A makes when the market starts a good long-term trend. But the advantage is that in a fast move with a large rebound, it will exit very close to the bottom/top of the move and won't let profits be lost on the rebound. Which version you choose to use will be up to you, but read on because I made an interesting discovery in version A.

For those of you currently testing Flyer!, I did some further research and now find that some settings with "TimePeriod" = 15 actually provide better results than using settings with "TimePeriod" = 30. In EUR/USD comparison testing between the 15 and 30 settings since February 1, 2006, I have achieved a 98.5% win rate (can we hope for better???!!!) on the 15 minute settings for a total of 396 trades. By using equity management, a $10,000 account became $4 million. Compare this to 94% and $2.5 million on the 30-minute setting. The 15-minute set also got it through the last few weeks of October without the huge losses of the 30-minute set, although it still had some losses.

Accompanying this article is a Word document showing a table comparing the original version (Version A) and the upcoming version (Version B). I haven't tested the possibility with any other currency pairs, only EUR/USD. Running the full backtest would take hours using all the CPU power on my laptop (and it's a good laptop too!).

Some comments on the results:

<o> </o>

For version A, I added an additional line for the 15-minute setup, which gave results close to the other "best" setups, but with a smaller stop loss.

<o> </o>

You'll notice that there are big differences between versions A and B. Both versions performed poorly on the 60-minute setting. A is very good on both the 15 and 30 minute settings, while B is only good on the 30 minute setting. The reason I think B performs well on the 30 minute setup is that on this time frame, due to the way market dynamics behave, the exit points of both versions are closer to the same value, whereas on other time frames, this is not the case.

<o> </o>

Now, I think you all have a few things to digest and I’ve written enough for this post now. Happy trading and thank you again for testing, helping and using my EA Flyer!
