Hello everyone,

My new trading strategy is based on rebounding from bottoms or retracements from top prices. So far I have tested and traded this strategy on XAU, Crude Oil, S&P500, Wheat and Coffee. Let me explain to you the details of this strategy with an example. Let's start with XAUUSD. The price of gold is now 1275 and the highest point is 1278. Now I set my sell stop at 1268 (10 pips below the recent high). If gold does not make a new high, this sell stop will be in effect. If the price continues to rise before my sell stop is hit, then I will modify my sell stop price to always be 10 points below the new high. Assuming gold drops, my sell stop hits 1268. Now my take profit level is 1258 and the first stop loss will be 1278. As the price drops, my stop loss will always be adjusted to 10 pips from the last low. For example, if XAU drops to 1260, my TP will still be at 1258, but my SL will be at 1270. Assuming we start the first position with 0.10 lots, if the first attempt is successful, my profit will be $100. Now, if XAU rebounds from 1260, my stop loss and reversal points will be at 1270. Since I originally sold from 1268, I lost 2 pips, or 20% of my potential profit, and now I have to increase my lot size by 20% on the reversal. Therefore, I will be long 0.12 lots at 1270, and the new target price will be 1280. This cycle will continue as long as the XAU moves 20 points from the bottom or top. Based on my backtesting from March 2016, if you started with 0.05 lots, the maximum drawdown would be $750. This means you risk up to $750 to gain $50. However, this only happens once, and usually you will reach TP within two days. I've made $250 since last week (Monday to Friday) (initial lot goal was $30 profit), and the largest lot I held in 3 hours on Friday was 0.50 lots of S&P500. I'm not sure if anyone can write an EA for this strategy, but if it could, it would be great to backtest multiple products over a longer period of time.
