Grids Without Greed | Grid EA Download - MT4/MT5 Resources

Hello everyone,

It's clear to me that when I mention grid trading, most people immediately move on to another topic.

Now that you haven't done that, let me make a long story short. I have been grid trading for a while now and I know that the trend is your best friend, but when the trend turns it becomes your worst enemy. Grid trading is very profitable when the trend is "right," but when the trend turns, you must exit (admit defeat) and either move in the opposite direction or wait for another opportunity. At the same time, if you accumulate some "bad trades" when the trend turns, you have to decide what to do with them, otherwise losses will start to pile up. IMHO, this is the key to grid trading.

Now, what if you started managing these “bad trades” early on before they pile up? Once they reach a certain threshold, do you lock them in with a reverse trade (opposite direction) until the trend goes in their favor again... or until you manage them another way... or until you decide to cancel them entirely and admit your losses? Or maybe set an expiration date and if they're still pending, they close and you move on.

I stumbled upon a certain EA and have been tinkering with it, but I'm not a coding expert so you'll find it either trashy or interesting. It has no functionality to manage wrong trades or lock wrong trades, and there are errors in the lot calculation for orders added after the initial order, and it's very simple and clear. So I thought we could get together and eventually develop a nice grid trading system that would allow people to sleep well at night without waking up in panic mode.

I have attached the EA here, as with all grid systems it is best suited for major currency pairs like GBPUSD, which do not move in one direction forever, although we can also find a solution to suit all types of trading scenarios and all currency pairs. Additionally, they tend to require some good balance on your account to meet drawdowns, but again we should find a workaround and make it work in small accounts as well.

I'm sure there are better EAs that are more advanced than this one or have all, some or better of these features, let's feel free to share them and combine all their concepts here so that we can come up with a nice output.

Please feel free to get involved, let's work together as a team, let's focus on the positives and work for the good of this project/business. I hope you found this interesting, but if not, I'm really sorry for wasting your time.

Finally, I wish you all a good time! ! Thanks.
