MY MA crossover (Jacko AH hybrid)
greeting.
I've been reading about the MA crossover system for years. They were killed in volatile markets. The problem is that they are stop and reverse systems.
So, I was just rolling around some ideas in my head and this came to me.
Choose MA crossover products that perform well. I don't have the numbers on that yet.
Now, when there is an upward or downward cross, do not enter. Wait for price to rise or fall X points for confirmation. This could be the SR series or something similar to Nicotina's 8 hour box. This prevents you from getting into the mess that MA systems are prone to.
Anyway, let's say you enter this trade and it goes against you. Stop loss is the price at which the MA crossover occurs. If the price moves back up (or down) to the original entry position, then re-enter (Jacko's side) unless a new cross occurs.
Assume that a new crossover occurs before the above SR confirmation. The old signal is now invalid and the new cross signal is valid, so now you have to wait for the price to move X points in the opposite direction to enter that entry point.
Could something like this work? Maybe. I might write an EA for it and run some backtests on different currency pairs.
cheers.
