KDHLB System | Foreign exchange EA download-MT4/MT5 resources-MetaTrader 5 resources
Personally, I don't trade mechanically, but I have a simple mechanical system that is very profitable in terms of high win rates and low profits.
I like to be more hands-on, so this system is not my main trading style, as this trading system favors a trading positioning style.
I only did manual backtesting and forward testing. It is a daily breakout system but I have been testing it manually within the last 1 to 2 years. I even narrowed it down to 1 minute, 5 minute and 15 minute charts to confirm the push to the TP target and how it pulls back before reaching the TP, thus determining the R/R aka money management of the strategy.
I hope someone can write this simple EA and provide options to change lot size, take profit/stop loss and closing/opening times. Because I have observed that due to different periods, the profits brought by different periods are different.
K-Daily high and low breakthrough
1. I draw vertical lines from 17:00 to 16:55 EST/EDT [preferably the EA draws 16:59]
2. Take profit/stop loss is up to you, but since I monitor my charts most of the time, I take different take profits based on what I see. But I recommend the following:
If the previous day's high/low range is less than 85 points;
Open a long position on the previous high (optional + 3 pips) and a short position on the previous low (optional - 3 pips), where:
[a] 3 groups of take profit price 10-20 points, stop loss price 20-30 points
[b] 1 set of 50 pips take profit, 25-30 pips stop loss
[Optional] I split [b] to a TP of 30 points and the other to a target price of 50+ points.
Previously I used TP 25 points and SL 25 points.
Reason: Daily candles with a smaller average range of 85 pips tend to be followed by a higher daily pip range of over 100 pips on another day.
If the previous day's high/low range exceeds 85 points;
[a] 3 groups of take profit price 10-20 points, stop loss price 20-30 points
Reason: Daily candles with an average range of 100 points more tend to have weaker or smaller breakouts or the next daily candle with a smaller range.
Based on these few criteria, it maximizes the winning percentage and mechanically reduces the winning percentage because you have to observe how the daily candles behave.
So far I've tested different times and the closest profit time is EDT/EST 00:00 hrs. So for those who are too lazy to change the time, you can take advantage of this opportunity.
I'll post an example here along with the template so you can try testing out how I do it.
How to avoid losses?
I look at certain levels of daily highs and lows, as well as daily open and close prices, so I don't accept or trade all breakouts.
As for the colored part, I highlighted it in the open close because I use it to trade consolidation, pullbacks, or strong push and pull scenarios. But I won't go into detail about it because I'm still looking for more ways to make it profitable.
If anyone can code this I'll provide more input on how to modify it better. Or add other strategies on how to manage non-breakouts or false breakouts. Because currently I'm filtering it out non-mechanically.
Good luck!
Please Note: This system and MM only works for EUR/USD, I tried it on other pairs and the breakout did work but the MM did not work, still looking for options to modify other pairs.
Thanks to Barbossa, one of our FF members, for creating and modifying this EA. Since we are both very busy, he has been patiently assisting me in fine-tuning this simple system. This is the third version and it's working, but I'm still hoping that most people can help test it out and maybe provide more ideas to input into this EA.
