2 ducks plus ALF (2 ducks plus ALF) | Foreign exchange EA download- MT4/MT5 resources
This is a variation of the three ducks method I didn't invent this method, I just "tweaked" it using ALF
The basic 3 Ducks method is based on trend trading (60 SMA) using the 4 hour chart, 1 hour chart and 5 minute chart.
If the price is above (or simply below) the 60 SMA on the 4 hours, 1 hour and 5 minutes, then you look for an entry on the 5 minute chart.
I don't use 5 minute charts at all, so I guess this could be called the 2 ducks method.
First, I look for currency pairs that are trending well on the 4-hour chart.
Look at the 60 SMA angle (the steeper the better)
The apartment is not good
I then move to the one hour chart which has the 60 SMA and also the ALF on the chart.
If price is below the 60 SMA and closes below the ALF, then I start looking for trades to break out of resistance (or support)
The image below shows a well trended chart on the 4 hour chart The other image shows the one hour chart with ALF (different currency pairs by the way)
I trade 50 pips SL and 100 pips TP or 25 pips SL and 50 pips TP, but sometimes I only trade 1:1
I have been day trading on 5 or 15 minute charts but I don't always have the time to do so so this approach allows me to set up some "set and forget trades"
