Hello! Over the years I have seen a lot of "systems" pop up on the forums, some are actually good and have produced decent profits for those who know how to trade, some are not so good.
Some are actually systems, integrating neat rules and money management, and some are just descriptions of a set of conditions for several indicators that do not constitute a system in themselves, at least in my interpretation of the term.
The idea behind this thread was to develop a concise system with no room for emotion or interpretation, a plan that simply required execution. Many people would certainly disagree and tell me it's impossible because the market keeps changing. This is certainly true, but it certainly maintains a predictable and regular pattern to achieve profits.
In this section of the forum there are systems that utilize a lot of these patterns, breakouts, trend lines, divergences, etc…
One thing in particular got me thinking. It takes advantage of small retracements between 10 and 25 pips, as the euro rarely moves 215 pips without a small retracement.
Some time ago, I created a thread in the programming discussion section. But the terms "Grid" and "Martinale" may scare away any possible attention.
The idea is to test a set of conditions to conduct a risk study.
I have been trading this idea ever since with good results.
It is actually a MartingaleGrid type of trade, but it does not have the risk of a "0" trade, i.e. it will drain your account. I don't want to develop a "money machine", or an account independent system.
Let's assume our starting capital is 1000 euros.
This should be the minimum account size for this "system".
But first, the rules:
1 minute time frame trading starts at 00:00 GMT+2
We are doing grid trading here, using a 10 pip grid and a 2 period simple moving average that acts as a filter.
After 00.00 gmt+2 we wait for the moving average to cross the grid and at the close of the candle a position should be opened in the direction of the cross.
(Figures 1 and 2 have examples of buying and selling)
After receiving the signal, all other crosses should be ignored and we wait for the trade to hit tp or sl. Stop Loss and Take Profit levels are 11.8 pips (10 plus spread, assuming spread is 1.8 pips)
If the moving average in a candle touches one of these levels and forms a new cross on the grid, another trade will be placed in the direction of the cross at the close of that candle. If the moving average crosses one or two candles, or any candle before the last trade SL or TP is hit, no signal will be received. If, after reaching TP or SL, it crosses in the next candle, place a new trade in that direction.
(Figure 3 and Figure 4 are examples of both situations)

Now for the Martingale stuff, because I know how the word "Martinale" scares people away, from now on I'm going to call it something cool like "ninja stuff".
So here's the "ninja stuff":
After a loss, your lot size will be doubled
The idea of this "system" is to make a large number of trades and profit from all trades until you are losing up to 3% of your equity per day.
So, if your balance is 1000 euros and the trading volume per trade is 0.01 lots, the risk per trade is 0.07% of the balance. If you set your maximum risk per trade at 3%, you would suffer four losses in a row and you would risk 2.17% of your account to cover all previous losses and still make a profit.
Obviously, as your account grows, you will overcome more consecutive losses. This is assuming you don't increase your lot size. That's why I don't want this to be a "single system" but an ongoing low-volume profitable system.
By trading this way, you can make 50 trades per day.
I'll give some results from last week after the example chart.
