M5 Trend Buster | Foreign Exchange EA Download- MT4/MT5 Resources
Hi guys,
I'm working on this. I wanted to share it to get any ideas from the community for improvements. It works well during trending and volatile periods, and like many other systems, it suffers somewhat during volatile periods.
set up:
(I usually trade from 08:00 to 17:00 GMT)
Be careful when publishing news
Time frame: M5
Cross: Eur/Usd; Gbp/Usd; Usd/Jpy;Euro/Japanese yen...and similar currencies
(Remember: there is no magic number...you can feel free to change things)
EMA 3
EMA 5
LWMA 60 (like LWMA 20 [20*3=60] in M15)
LWMA 165 (LWMA 55 in M15)
RSI 8 & RSI 20
DM_Volatility (runs on M5 and M15)
I like making EA, so I use very mechanical rules...
rule:
Only Long if LWMA 60 > LWMA 165
Only Short if LWMA 60 < LWMA 165
DM_Volatility must be >= 0.0004 in M5 & M15 (with BBVolatility MTF you can see them both)
(This indicator can avoid some whipsaws, but not all, actually I'm looking for an ally, maybe ADX on a different time frame... I need time)
entry signal (long) when EMA 3 cross upper EMA 5 and RSI 20 is > 50
(If all the rules are consistent in the last bar, but the volatility is inconsistent, you can enter the market in the actual bar when DM volatility >= 0.0004)
For short term entries, vice versa
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very important: I like to make my own decisions , when the last bar closes with all my conditions, I enter inside when a new bar opens... the same goes for exiting
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
exit (long) 1'OPTION EMA 3 cross EMA 5 against your direction ( ema3 <= ema5 )
(Quick Exit) EMA 5 (last closed bar) is < EMA 5 previous bar
I don’t have set rules for money management, it’s also a work in progress…
I only use fixed stops of 20/25 pips
Here are some examples (I calculate my entries like an EA):
