PowerSM Semi-Martingale EA (PowerSM Semi-Martingale EA) - MT4/MT5 Resources
I'm publishing my PowerSM EA and PowerSM calculator for those who follow the FXTradepro threads on the forum. For those of you who are a little frustrated after finding out that you have to pay to use his FXTradepro EA, this is for you. Below are links to threads that are familiar with this concept. If you have not used EA before, please read this first.
FXTradepro: Strategy using “semi-martingale” position sizing
Before I begin, I would like to say that I do not mean to disrespect or discredit FXTradepro's efforts in any way, as I feel that he has a very profitable tool for traders to use. In my opinion, I feel like you should never release something for free just to whet people's appetite and then drive people to your website and start charging you to use your product, that's what I'm saying.
Also, I will only be posting the EX4 files because I personally paid for this EA to be built to my specifications out of my own pocket and plan to market it commercially outside of this forum (don't worry, the EA will be free to all forum users!). People who want more information can PM me, but I won't advertise on the forum. The EA itself will expire in one year from today, for those who want to trade with it or demo it with other settings for use on other currency pairs (this is to repay those who have helped me on this forum, I do not expect or accept payments, donations or any other form of compensation for this, this is for you to use as you wish!). After the first year I will release a new EA that will be valid for one year to have some control over it.
For those who have not seen or used this EA, it is simple and straightforward. The EA opens trades in three different ways
1.) When the time and price entries are set to false, the EA will open trades on the next price tick.
2.) After setting the price entry to true, you can have the EA start trading at the set price point.
3.) Setting the time entry to true, you can have the EA open trades at a specific time (my preference).
The EA will open the first trade above and either a) the take profit level you set is reached or b) the stop loss is reached. When the stop loss is hit, trade immediately in the opposite direction and place the next trade, up to 24 trading levels. The link above will provide you with more detailed information about Expert Advisors.
To accommodate some of the changes I wanted the EA to make, I made the following changes:
a.) No more hibernation functionality.
b.) The time entries have been modified to also provide stop times for those who want the EA to trade during more volatile periods, such as from London Open at 08:00 GMT to London Close at 17:00 GMT.
c.) I added a breakeven function where you can move your stop loss after "X" number of pips. This does sometimes affect your overall profit when your stop is hit, because once your stop is moved, you don't lose money when your stop is hit. I'll explain this later in the thread.
d.) I also added extra features, such as the ability to add an expiry date and the ability to code the EA to use a specific account number (this is only activated on the business side for those who manage multiple accounts for clients and those outside the forum who just want to rent accounts).
I will also post my demo statement daily to show the progress of the trade starting from yesterday's EUR/USD sequence. I'll only show the current day's transactions so as not to clutter the report. Starting this morning, I will also be testing USD/JPY and USD/CHF using similar Take Profit and Stop Loss levels.
