The Really Really Boring Forex System

I have a feeling many people will understand the sentiment behind the "system" I'm about to explain. I have been trading Forex (at the time of writing this article) for about a year and a half, and during this time I have tried everything (and I mean everything) to try and make consistent profits. I have tried trading 1 minute chart, 5 minute chart, 15 minute chart and I know that trading 15 minute chart using GBP/USD pivot points is a profitable method but to make money consistently you need to have strict discipline which unfortunately I don't have.

I traded long term charts, analyzed daily and weekly charts for a while, used support and resistance, followed trends, but I still wasn't much better than breakeven, mostly due to lack of discipline.

I've read (what feels like) every book on how to trade and I'm still not consistently profitable.

Finally, I think I stumbled across (at least on my own) something that uses logic and probability to give me a system that works for me.

I must emphasize the above point very strongly. It works for me.

In this first post I want to publicly thank a few members of this great forum... James16 (hero), Clockwork71 (hero), Jacko (hero), Strat and a few others.

The above mentioned people helped me find my way to Forex trading. I'm not going to follow everything they advise or do, but that's the great thing about trading, it's not about the market, it's about the person pressing the mouse button.

What I hope to achieve by starting this post is to create a safe haven for the rest of us, those lost and frustrated souls who have been trying to make money through trading for a while and no matter how hard they try, just can't muster the courage and discipline to make consistent profits. I don't expect you to follow this system exactly, you may have your own ideas and twists, and that's the point. A system is only as good as the people who follow it, if I can give some people some quality ideas and help some new traders take James16/Clockwork/Jacko's ideas and combine them into something that works for you, then I will be "giving back" some of what I "took" from this forum.

I'll lay out the basic idea below, but you can make your own version of this method to your liking. There are many ways to make money from the Forex market and I believe that I have found the method that works for me and that I will be following in the near future (and possibly the distant future).
