I have finished writing the first version of an EA based on the Turtle trading system with MACD + Stoch filters. I will not explain the Turtle Trading System as it is already well known. My filters for top breakout entry signals are (1) H1 MACD(5,13,1): check if the last 6 bars are positive for long entries, or negative for short entries, and (2) M15 Stochastic(5,3,3): for long signals, enter when stoch crosses 30 upwards; for short signals, enter when stock crosses 70 downwards. that's all!
If you read Turtle Trading, the emphasis is on discipline and strict adherence to the rules. So I thought what better way to implement this strategy than automated trading? I basically want an EA that I can deposit into a small account (say $500) and have it trade without any manual intervention. I've completed the first version of the system and the backtest results look great! I attach the strategy tester's report. The test was conducted from January 1, 2008 to September 16, 2008. An initial deposit of $500 was able to generate a net profit of $19k. It generates 83.33% of winning trades.
