Lohad HMA Scalping System - MT4/MT5 resources
Well, I'm back with another system.
I decided to start a new thread for this. My last system was based on the TG Vorticity Index and then evolved into a completely new system that had nothing to do with the TG Vorticity Index.
I'll tell you, I've only been working on this system for a little over a week. So I don't have much backtest data. I can say that I've been testing this system and running it through the emulator, and both are getting good enough results for me to feel comfortable sharing. Hopefully this isn't a flash-in-the-pan system.
I am an M1 trader, so most of my testing is done on M1 charts. It seems that the M5 is also good.
This system is basically an MA cross system with some additional tools to help provide confirmation. I have been a big fan of the Hull MA and have been using it regularly in my trading for a long time. So Hull MA is the framework of this system. The reason for creating this system is that we all know that the MA Crossover system works very well in trending markets. But in volatile or choppy markets, they can kill you. So I've been looking for a way to weigh an MA crossover system that will only show me moves that seem to have the required "umpf" to allow me to scalp even in range markets. Additionally, these indicators act as filters, helping me avoid weak entry signals many times. Now I realize that the word "umpf" is subjective. But when I'm only looking for 5 points, I don't need a lot of "umpf".
I follow the teachings of many Edgetraders and incorporate less exposed market theory. So I added 5 points of TP to this system. My goal is to use hi to detect a high probability of a reliable entry into a move with enough momentum to take 5 pips. In slower markets, my price target is 3 points.
Timeframe: M1 (seems to work with other TFs too. But not tested)
Pairings: EU, GU (the only pairings I tested).
Trading hours: I mainly trade from around 3:00 am to 6:30 am London opening time (CST). However, if I had longer time to trade, I would trade around 10:00 AM CST.
TP: 5 points (this depends on your personal taste).
SL: See attached image. Usually a psychological stop loss of the last swing high/low or 10 pips. I know this is not a traditional R/R ratio.
Exit: See attached image. There are different areas where you can opt out based on your preferences
index:
chart:
HMA Candles - (used on line charts to display candles)
HMA - (24, faster HMA)
HMA Russian Color - (36, slower HMA)
Window #1:
HMA Histo- (24,0,3)
Window #2:
MACD Cross- (12,26,9)
Rads T3 Random - 13,3,3 (White)
THV candle clock
Window #3:
Random_Color_V1.034D - (10,3,3)
Make progress
1. Price crosses the moving average and the candle is blue
2. HMA Histo is blue
3. Macd has crossed over to show long.
4.Rads T3 Stoch above Macd
5. Color Stoch shows blue
Most of the time I will enter on the next candle after the close of the candle that meets this condition. I also want the price to exceed the "trigger" candle.
1. Price crosses the moving average and the candle is red
2. HMA Histo is red
3. Macd has crossed over, indicating a short position.
4.Rads T3 Stoch is lower than Macd
5. Color Stoch Shows Red Most of the time, I will enter on the next candle after the close of the candle that meets this condition. I also want the price to exceed the "trigger" candle.
So please feel free to check this out and offer any comments or thoughts. Although my records don't bear it out, I'm trying to come up with a plan. So if you are providing a new indicator, please test it before putting it here. I'm always looking to improve the system, but I want to avoid a bunch of metrics being thrown away without any testing.
Thanks
Rockhard
