MTFTMA (MTF TMA) | Forex Indicator Download - MT4/MT5 Resources - MetaTrader 5 Resources
Set the TMA to 60M, 240M and 1440M and open the one hour chart of any currency pair. When the 60M TMA exceeds 240 or 1440, trade in the opposite direction.
I use the alerts on 1440 and 240 to know when a trade is established. Please strictly manage your funds and only trade with funds you can afford. Don't rush into trades and be patient with them because if you have daily defaults or four-hour defaults, they can last for months.
This is a long-term trading system and I have not tried it on the lower time frames, although it will work based on price action. I trade through a live account, but you may want to trade on a demo account for a few months until you feel comfortable. I hope the makers of these metrics appreciate what they've done for us, since I'm not a coder or programmer.
This is my fifth year in the Forex industry and my first time making a profit, this is my way of giving back to the Forex Factory community as this is the best forum for learning.
Clarity of this trading method <br> Hello everyone,
Today I had the opportunity to speak on the phone with Mike, the founder of this trading system. We had a good discussion and I got a very clear idea of how to trade.
Because I believe this system has its merits, I'd like to pass on the answers I received to you (with Mike's permission). Here are the questions I asked and the answers I received.
Mike, please correct me on anything I didn't get here:
Question 1. Which currency pairs would you focus on trading this way?
A: Any currency pair really, but I focus on EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF, GBP/CHF, AUD/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/JPY
Question 2. Do you trade during specific time periods, such as New York, London or Asia, or only when you receive a signal?
Answer: Any time as long as there is a signal.
Question 3. How do you set up your trading charts?
A: Open the 1 hour chart for all currency pairs mentioned above. Place a template named "#mtf-tma-h1".
Question 4. When you scan your charts looking for trade setups, what timeframes do you consider?
Answer: 1 hour
Question 5. When you scan a chart looking for trading setups, what exactly are you looking for?
A: We are looking for any currency pair where the "SEMA4" indicator appears. This was a sign that we were starting to look at opportunities to enter the industry. From here, we can set a buy stop or sell stop at the price that crosses the next 4-hour TMA line.
In other words, let's say we see a high SEMA4 signal on the chart and therefore we intend to go short. We look below SEMA4 and down to the next 4 hour TMA line and place a sell stop if the market price crosses that TMA line from above. The opposite is true for long trading.
Question 6. What is your entry signal?
Answer: Entry is always based on stop loss orders, not market orders. An entry signal occurs when the H1 THA crosses the nearest 4H TMA line above or below the SEMA4 signal.
Question 7. When you place a trade, do you set a stop loss? If so, where do you put it?
A: If you want to set a stop loss, set it above (short) or below (long) the SEMA4 signal.
Question 8. When you enter a trade, do you set a goal?
Answer: Your target can be the next 4H TMA line from your entry point. In addition, we can also exit when the "XZZ" signal appears by setting a 40-50 pip trailing stop. (Note: We are currently trying to find someone to help modify the XZZ signal to provide email notifications when it fires. If you can help, please contact us).
Question 9. Do you set your stop loss at the breakeven point at any point?
A: Even a breakout when the move is about 40 or 50 points in the right direction.
This is what I have so far. I hope this clarifies the approach. Many thanks to the originator of the post for providing this method and answering my question!
