This topic is about developing the rAlgo Pivot Trading Expert Advisor on MT4. I started writing the rAlgo pivot EA back in April 2018, based on the pivot trading strategy shared by Davit on Forex Factory. However, since then Davit's methodology has changed, with the rAlgo Pivot EA in our own direction, and although the roots of both methods center on weekly Fibonacci pivot points, the entry and exit strategies are now different.
As you know, there are advantages and disadvantages to both manual and automated trading systems, so I am not going to elaborate further. Davit's system is a manual system. As mentioned before, rAlgo Pivot EA was developed in April 2018, the first version is v0.5, and the latest version is v0.8.4 (March 2019), as can be seen from the version number, rAlgo Pivot EA is still in the beta stage, because I am still testing and fine-tuning the algorithm. Although still in beta development, the trading results reported by many of our FF members in this thread indicate that the EA is already generating profits , which is very encouraging for all of us, but you should still trade at your own risk and discretion.
To organize, I'm working with Storm Chaser to grow this project together, I will focus on EA development while Storm Chaser will help moderate this thread, taking care of admin tasks (feedback/feature requests/bug reports, etc.), general support and contact matters. Thanks to the storm chaser for your contribution!

1. Why did you start this topic?
In order to give back to society, the excellent FF community can work together to create an excellent EA.
2. What are the best trading pairs, best time frames and best setup files?
Now you can forward test the rAlgo Pivot EA on major currency pairs (on demo or CENT account), the best TF so far is H1 , using default settings for now.
3. Can I backtest my EA?
Yes you can!
4. Backtesting is pointless and useless, and I suspect the results you shared are fake.
We don’t want to argue about whether backtesting is useful or not, it’s up to you to decide. Of course, we know that you shouldn't believe everything you read online, so we recommend that you download the EA and put it on a demo account to test it out. You be the judge.
5. Why doesn't the EA seem to work with my US brokerage account that requires FIFO trading?
rAlgo Pivot EA is not compliant with US FIFO trading so we cannot guarantee whether it will work or not, you will have to figure it out yourself. We have other pressing priorities and have no plans to achieve FIFO compliance in the short term.
6. How can I get more support or contribute to this project?
