The purpose of this post is to continue the development of trading rules based on the 123 patterns.

In November 2010, I released a project called 123PatternV6 . This indicator is the result of a lot of discussion and development work in a thread called Multiple Trading Systems Only GBPSD. Zamanib started the topic and I recognize the valuable work he did on the project.

The 123PatternsV6 version I'm using hasn't changed in over a year and can be downloaded from a previous thread.

Why a new thread?

I started this new thread to start with a new focus and avoid confusion with the previous multi-system thread.

Guidelines for keeping this thread running

This thread focuses on using 123PatternsV6 for trading decisions.

1. Only 123PatternsV6 custom indicators
2. No other custom indicators or systems are discussed here
3. Any MT4 built-in indicator and chart object will work
4. Any currency pair will do
5. Any time frame is fine

Thread housekeeping

1. Normal charts only . Please go to the previous thread (listed above) to discuss range bars and other charts.
2. Keep posted diagrams clean and easy to read. Use MT4 file.Save as picture to create gif image. Use the attachment button to upload a gif in the FF post editor and insert it into your post. This way we don't see those giant chart images wrapping the threads around the screen.
3. Delete most posts when quoting someone else's content . There's no need to quote an entire 50-line post and a one- or two-line reply. Learn how to use the editor correctly, quoting only relevant words and deleting the rest.

Target

As you know, a complete trading system involves more than just someone's favorite indicator. Risk management, position sizing, timing, trading logs to assess progress, entry rules, exit rules, etc.

My goal for this topic is to collectively understand the 123 patterns and understand when they are useful and when they are not.

In my posts, I will filter out my own "big ideas" or "rules" that don't actually support sustained profitability. For example, if adding a moving average looks cool/interesting but actually makes making profitable trading decisions more difficult, then it must be removed.

If you are interested in the 123 patterns and are willing to work towards achieving them, then welcome traders and let's do some work.

PPS remove spam posts . As a moderator of this post, I will delete posts that I deem to be irrelevant or basically spam. I know I've posted garbage in some posts in the past out of naive enthusiasm. I know how this happens. This is not a personal attack, just to keep the learning environment clean.
