EUR/USD Moving Average Cross EA
Hi traders, I have been using the Universal Moving Average EA that I found on FF to develop an EU strategy on H1 TF.
Basically, when both the 21 EMA and the 60 EMA are above the 200 EMA, it will enter a long trade when the 21 EMA and the 60 EMA cross. Opposite of short term entry. TP is set to 1000 points and TS to 70 points. The good thing is that the stop loss is set at 20 pips, so the losers are not big. In the backtest, its winning rate was about 48%, and the size of the winners was 4 times that of the losers.
Of course, all parameters can be defined by the user. I have developed these parameters and found them to be very reliable.
I have not done live trading, but I know that the moving averages I mentioned are used frequently by many traders. I backtested it on Alpari US for six months, and with money management enabled, the profit factor was 3.67. The risk per trade is set at 4%, which is a bit high, but can always be lowered to your risk tolerance. (I prefer 2%-3%)
Basically I put this out there to see if anyone would be willing to test the EA on a different broker to see if it has any real advantages. I know most traders put very little (if any) stock into backtesting, however, EU is trending really well, so if you get into a good trend trade with enough breathing room and 70 pips seems to be enough, then it might be worth giving it a try. It doesn't trade very often, about once a week.
This is the first thread I've started so hopefully I can post the backtest results and ea. Ha ha
Happy trading everyone!
