Round numbers strategy | Foreign exchange EA download- MT4/MT5 resources
I found this strategy on Google and thought it was interesting enough to post it:
“This is another very simple but extremely effective strategy. Round numbers (e.g. EUR/USD 1.2800, USD/JPY 99.00) are natural support and resistance levels. A lot of orders are placed around these levels. Over the past few years, the importance of round numbers has increased Added because they are used for option barrier levels and are protected. This is why when the market approaches such levels, price movements are offset by these order flows and a small pullback usually occurs. You should carefully study the price action around the round numbers and improve your strategy.

Long position rules
- The price is approaching round-number support.
- Long positions are initiated when:
- the price reaches a whole number, or
- The price breaks out a few pips below the round number. - After opening a position, an initial stop-loss order is placed 2-3 pips below the low reached during the test round, or at a fixed distance from the entry point.
- Limit orders are placed in accordance with our money management rules.
Short position rules
- The price is approaching round-number resistance.
- Short positions are initiated under the following circumstances:
- the price reaches a whole number, or
- The price breaks through a round number of points. - After opening a position, an initial stop-loss order is placed 2-3 pips above the high reached during the test round, or at a fixed distance from the entry point.
- Limit orders are placed in accordance with our money management rules. "
It doesn't say where the TP should be, but I'm guessing the number for the next round.
