Pair Divergence Method | Foreign exchange indicator download - MT4/MT5 resources
This is something I've been noticing for a long time and I thought it was time to take it seriously.
This is a trading divergence between two highly correlated currency pairs.
I found the relevant pair
http://www.mataf.net/en/tools/correlation-table
I use daily correlation charts.
The correlation coefficient for these pairs is currently >80
EUR/USD - EUR/CHF USD/JPY - EUR/JPY - GBP/JPY EUR/USD - USD/CHF (negative correlation)
The chart below shows EUR/JPY and GBP/JPY.
Basically, if one currency pair makes lower lows and the other currency pair does not make lower lows, then you buy the currency pair that did not make lower lows.
If one pair makes higher highs and the other pair does not, sell the pair that did not make higher highs.
I would wait until both pairs turn in the trading direction before entering the trade.
On the chart, I removed the candles/bars and replaced them with Simple MA, 1 Period, Typical Price.
This eliminates whiskers and a lot of noise. And, it works, I like it
I use 14 ATR x 2 as stop loss and take profit.
I randomly picked this one. It can be improved.
I used a 4 hour time frame. It can be traded on any time frame.
Below are the results for the graph shown.
8W-0L
Total profit = 1640 points.
This is from February 25, 2009 to last Friday.
Any questions and suggestions are welcome.
I'm sure it can be improved.
Also, please double check my results. I may have overlooked some transactions. If I did, I would correct the results.
I don't need any EAs, indicators or filters. This one will stand on its own.
