On Point | Forex Indicator Download - MT4/MT5 Resources | MT4/MT5 Download
I have given up on the past data indi trading method as it is not what I want and when I say past data I mean any indi that looks back to calculate the future in an average way, almost all other indicators are based on this.
So this thread is based on volume profile and control points, I may add OBV later but prefer to provide cumulative delta indi for MT4 which is calculated based on daily open price.
I know this is price tick volume and not actual trading volume, so please don't tell me that in the post.
I have been reading and testing volume profiles for several months now and coming up with my own trading system, what I like is that you can actually enter at the best possible price, we don't wait for the candle to close etc., we enter when the price hits the target area, regardless of the time of day, with very little risk if the price goes against us, depending on the previous day's profile (this is something else we can discuss).
I use 30 minute charts on the MT4 platform and use 2 types of volume profiles - daily profile and time-by-time profile.
The daily profile is set up to look back 11 days so I can complete the 10 days and open day and it gives me all the POC for the previous 10 days and I also get the VAH and VAL for the previous day as different colored lines.
My volume profile is set by time to look back 6 days at 8640 1 minute bars.
I look for retracements to strong S/R areas to create entries from all POCs, exit if the breakout reaches the previous day's VAH or VAL respectively, if the profile is really strong, or if weak, the TP is the next POC and I move the SL to where I want it
Example:
The blue area is a potential entry point and the red rectangle is the worst case exit point or TP where we need to have a proper move before retracing.
or
There's a lot more to this than what I just said, but if you want to join in, we can talk about that as we go along.
come back as soon as possible
