Eclipse Trading EA Free Download – Scalping Strategy Review | Gold EA Download – MT4/MT5 Resources
Eclipse Trading EA is a fully automated intelligent trading system built specifically for MetaTrader 4 and designed around price action-based scalping strategies. It targets Forex major currencies and Gold (XAUUSD) and supports up to 28 currency pairs. The developers market it as a high-win ratio system that offers built-in capital protection through a hidden stop-loss mechanism and trailing stops.
EAs follow a fairly standard scalping architecture - enter based on short-term price action signals, capitalize on momentum by trailing stops, and then exit quickly. What makes it worth looking into is the combination of hidden stops, aggressive tracking, and a claimed win rate of over 80%. We conducted a full year of backtesting on Tickmill demo data to verify these claims, with the results detailed below.
This article provides a technical breakdown of the Eclipse Trading EA strategy, independent backtest analysis comparing results to developer claims, recommended settings, and a direct download link for testing.
Core strategy and logic
Eclipse Trading EA operates on a scalping framework driven by price action signals. According to the backtest log and parameter structure, the system operates as follows:
- Price Action Entry – EA monitors short-term price patterns on the M5 or M1 timeframe and opens trades when conditions align. It can go both long and short.
- Hidden Stop Loss – In the broker system, the S/L of the order is set to 0. The actual stop loss is managed internally by the EA, which prevents stop loss searches on the broker's side. Backtesting confirms this – orders always show an S/L of 0.00000 on entry.
- Trailing Stop Mechanism – Once the trade is profitable by a certain number of pips (TralStart parameter), the EA starts trailing the stop up (for longs) or down (for shorts). The backtest logs show dozens of consecutive modifying orders per trade - each order increasing the S/L by 1 pip - which confirms an active pip-by-pip tracking system.
- Spread Filter – The
abcdparameter (set to 40 in the test) acts as a spread limiter. When the spread exceeds this threshold, the EA skips entries. - Money Management – When MM is enabled, the lot size is proportional to the account equity based on risk parameters. When disabled, it uses a fixed manual batch size.
The price action method is similar in concept to AI price action bots, although Eclipse only focuses on scalping using trailing stops rather than swing-based entries. Traders who prefer a manual price action approach may also find the Atomic Analyst indicator useful for identifying the same types of setups automated by Eclipse.

Backtesting Analysis: Verifying Developer Claims
We used the Tickmill demo data for the whole year of 2025 (January 1st to December 30th) to run the Eclipse Trading EA on EURUSD M5, using Every Tick mode, and the modeling quality was 87.12%. Parameters: MM=True, Risk=2.0, TralStart=15, Spread Limit=40. Starting balance: $100.
1. Winning Rate – Claims: >80%
The backtest returned a total of 128 transactions, of which 112 were profitable and 16 were losses, resulting in a win rate of 87.50% . The winning rate for short positions is 86% (43 out of 50 times) and the winning rate for long positions is 88.46% (69 out of 78 times). This matches the developer's claim of >80%, and actually exceeds that number. EAs clearly have a statistical advantage in identifying favorable short-term entry points.
2. Profitability and growth
The profit factor of 3.93 is high - well above the 2.0 threshold that most traders consider feasible. The expected return per trade for micro lots is $0.46, confirming the consistent advantage. In comparison, Smart Machine EA (another top Forex robot) trades more frequently but has a different risk profile.
3. Risk profile and drawdown
The drawdown numbers are particularly low. The maximum drawdown for trading over the year is 2.36%, which suggests conservative position sizing - you can verify your own account's risk tolerance using our drawdown calculator. The longest losing streak was only 2 trades, which shows that the EA does not recklessly enter a position when it is wrong. If drawdown management is your top priority, then the Drawback Recovery EA can serve as a complementary tool.
4. Trailing stop loss verification
This is where the backtest log is most telling. Checking the trading history, each profitable trade will show a series of modify orders - usually 15-50+ per trade - with stop loss increments of 1 pip each time in the direction of the profit. For example, order #7 (sell at 1.02533) generated over 40 modification orders, dragging the stop loss from 1.02518 to 1.02477 and closing the position at breakeven. This confirms that the trailing stop works exactly as described.
5. Transaction frequency – a question
128 trades in 12 months roughly works out to 10-11 trades per month , or about 2-3 trades per week. This value is particularly low for scalping EAs. The spread filter and price action conditions appear to be quite selective. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - it shows that the EA is waiting for high probability setups rather than overtrading - but users looking forward to daily signals may find it impressive. Traders who want to scalp more frequently may want to compare with the Vigorous FX or SCARLET EURUSD EA, both of which have significantly higher trading volumes on similar currency pairs.
6. Risk-reward imbalance
Average winning trade: $0.71. Average losing trade: -$1.27. EA's losses were almost 1.8 times its earnings. This is a common trait among high win rate scalpers - they rely on the frequency of wins to overcome larger personal losses. If the win rate drops below approximately 64% in real terms (due to slippage, widening spreads or requotes), the strategy may become unprofitable. You can use our bankruptcy risk calculator to simulate your specific risk scenarios.

Eclipse Trading EA
Eclipse Trading EA is a fully automated price action scalper for MetaTrader 4 that trades EURUSD, Gold (XAUUSD) and up to 28 currency pairs on the M5 timeframe. It uses a hidden stop-loss mechanism to prevent brokers from stopping hunting, and a point-by-point trailing stop system to lock in profits. The EA includes built-in money management and spread filters with adjustable risk percentages to avoid poor market conditions.
✓Pros
- The backtest winning rate is 87.5%, consistent with the statement of 80%+
- Extremely low drawdown (max 2.36%)
- Confirm Trailing Stop in Trading Journal
✗ Cons
- Only 128 transactions in 12 months – low frequency
- The average loss is almost twice the average profit
- Backtesting of 1 pip spread values may not reflect real-time conditions
Summary
The EURUSD backtest data is solid, with low retracement and high winning rate. The trailing stop system works as described, but the EA trades infrequently and profitability depends largely on low spread conditions.

FAQ
Conclusion
Eclipse Trading EA delivers what it promises in backtesting - a price action scalper with high win rate, low drawdown and functional trailing stop mechanism. EURUSD M5's 87.5% win rate and 3.93 profit factor are strong figures beyond what the developers claim. However, the profitability of an EA depends on maintaining winning rates in real-time market conditions, where spreads are wider and slippage is real. An unfavorable risk-reward ratio (the average loss is almost twice the average win) means that any significant drop in accuracy could turn the strategy negative. Traders interested in testing this EA should start with a low spread ECN demo account and monitor the results for at least a month before considering actual deployment.
