Overview of the Traditional MACD Indicator
Using hidden divergences , the traditional MACD oscillator plots the relationship between candlesticks and bars. Additionally, when the moving average is below the histogram, it signals a bearish trend.
Conversely, in a bullish trend, a moving average above the histogram can serve as a buy signal.
Buy Signal
According to the EUR/USD 30-minute chart, the divergence between the candlesticks and the MACD histogram is highlighted using indicator lines.
As observed, the histogram shows higher lows while the price forms lower lows. Furthermore, the moving averages cross the histogram and oscillate in the positive zone, confirming the bullish signal.

Sell Signal
According to NZD/USD 15-minute chart analysis, price formed higher highs while the histogram showed lower highs.
Additionally, the moving average is located below the histogram. This divergence between the indicator and price is a sell signal for short positions.
