author EAcpu | 3 reads | 0 comments |

AMKA indicator is an adaptive indicator based on moving averages on the Kaufman algorithm.

Compared with standard moving averages such as SMA or EMA, this trading tool has two main differences:

  • In a trending market, it responds more quickly to price changes and remains consistent with the trend movement;
  • In a range-bound or sideways market, it will move more slowly to reduce false signals.

AMKA indicator overview

Kaufman Adaptive Moving Average (AMKA) uses a 9-period adaptive moving average to identify trend reversal points and current market direction.

In trending markets, AMA lines can serve as dynamic support or resistance levels .

The tool visually displays entry signals:

  • Blue Dots: indicates a bullish (buy) signal;
  • Red Dots: Indicates a bearish (sell) signal.

Indicators are in an upward trend

The chart below shows the EUR/GBP currency pair on the 15-minute time frame. In this indicator, when price breaks above the AMKA line from below, it indicates a potential trend reversal.

If the green dots appear simultaneously, the buy signal is confirmed.
