A simple trend indicator is the smoothed average directional movement index . If the positive line of ADX is higher than its negative line, an uptrend is marked by a lime bar. If the positions of the lines are reversed, the bars are red. ADX's growing thick bars indicate that the trend is strengthening. The thin falling bars on ADX indicate weakness.
The indicator was first implemented in MQL4 and published in the code base of mql4.com on July 22, 2009.
